In January 2025, the Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) showed an increase of 2.9% compared to the previous month, accumulating a year-on-year growth of 33.11%. It highlighted variations at both macroeconomic and regional levels.

The macroeconomic level experienced a monthly decrease of 0.19%, despite a significant year-on-year increase of 8.68%. At the regional level, all regions showed positive variations in the CCI. In the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA), a monthly increase of 6.32% and a year-on-year increase of 36.95% were recorded, while in the interior of the country, the monthly increase was 4.58% with a year-on-year increase of 35.03%.

Differences in the behavior of the CCI were observed based on income levels. Households with lower incomes experienced a monthly increase of 14.40% and a year-on-year increase of 42.81%, while in Greater Buenos Aires (GBA), the increase was 0.85% monthly and 30.68% year-on-year.

When analyzing the CCI by time frames, an increase of 8.51% in current conditions in January was observed. The CCI consists of various elements, including the sub-index of Durable Goods and Real Estate, which increased by 6.58% monthly and 137.11% year-on-year, while confidence in personal situation grew by 4.21% monthly and 27.07% year-on-year.

The study, based on a telephone survey of 1000 people over 18 years old in urban centers, reflected an optimistic outlook, with the CCI of 47.38 being the highest value recorded in the last 12 months. Despite some specific declines in recent months, the report highlights the overall positive trend in consumer confidence, assessing both personal and general economic situations as well as the willingness to make purchases.
